Soon to be homeless

Hi there,

I live with my girlfriend and a friend of ours, we have been in our property for 12 months, but it has since been sold, and the owners are moving in soon. We were given 60 days notice and have been applying for many, many property since.

My girlfriend and our friend are both international students and have adequate offshore financial support (from china) and $10,000 each in savings, and I was between jobs for 3 weeks and have now started a full time position at 40k per year.
Money is really not an issue due to their continued offshore support, but it seems many Aussie landlords question international students ability to pay (unfoundered and is the core of our problem).

We now have 10 days left until we have to be out and we are yet to be accepted for any of our applications and I'm afraid we will have nowhere to live.

We're very worried and I am looking for options to keep us off the streets.

Please help.

Hello abyssus .......... As your girlfriend and friend are oversea's students the school in which they attend should have a list of accomodation available in your area for housing .......... Even though you are not a student some will allow you to also stay as you are employed and are with your girlfriend and friend .........as it is not the end of the schooling semester there should be a few availiable ......... You can also google a list of availability . Explain your situation and eventually you will find somewhere ........... If your time does run out and you find yourself stuck contact your local backpackers as money is not an issue for you there is a variety of different accommodation and they will be able to help you until you find somewhere more suitable . Or you might want to stay on there with the variety of different people that you might meet there ........ good luck and take care .........

Generally most universities and colleges have a student union which most often has accomodation services. They often advertise accommodation that is not listed on mainstream advertising sites. You might want to also check realestate sites for share accomodation.
