I need help for a friend...

To those who may know what i know nothing about... I have a long time childhood friend who is in need of assistance. He is currently in Michigan, and is not homeless, but is in low income housing living off a combination of social security and disability for a total of $700 a month. He is having severe problems in Michigan and wants to move out here where he at least has a few good decent people as friends. Does anyone know of programs available to help him out?

Doni, I don't have any solid answers. Is he going to live with you? Can he move and keep his SSI and Disability or will he need to re-apply? He needs to start asking these questions to the SSI folks and you can do the same at your location. Check with local shelters also. Hopefully others more knowledgeable will send some info also. Bottom line, start asking these tough questions. An answer will begin to unfold. HTH's.
