Take Back the Land is organizing families to move in and squat in foreclosed homes in Florida. They have settled 6 families so far in state or bank owned foreclosed properties and are openly working on settling more families. They have the families put the power back on and pay the power bill and maintain the property while they are squatting there.
Very cool! It's been covered on CNN, check out the video of the CNN interview on their website. |

That's real cool. I always liked the idea of squatting.

It's still the land of opportunity. I've squatted but I'd rather be a house sitter.

I'm gonna travel back to florida
I know there were alot of empty houses down there, One in which me and a few other people tried to clean up one cause there was an unwelcoming drug element in the area cause of the house, and the police raided the house on a few occasions, luckily none of us were in it at the time. But we ended up having to give up on the house cause the police were becoming a heavy presence.

Good luck to you Jeremy. Squatting is a popular pursuit here in London, and the problems that you mention are applicable here as well. I trust that you will continue to log in with updates of your progress.
