Default Homeless Persons Information Centre

In NSW we are lucky to have the Homeless Person's Information Service - one number for what ever referral info you need:

Homeless Persons Information Centre

The Homeless Persons Information Centre (HPIC) is telephone information and referral service that directs those in the community who are homeless, or at risk of homelessness, to the services that may assist them. It provides professional assessments and referrals for clients seeking accommodation and support services within NSW.

The service is provided directly by the City of Sydney. In 2002 HPIC responded to over 47,000 calls from individuals and government and community agencies. In the same year HPIC successfully referred 93% of clients to accommodation. HPIC is in constant communication with other services ensuring up to date information on service requirements and availability in NSW.

The City of Sydney's Homeless Persons Information Centre can make referrals for individuals, couples and family groups over 18 years of age. HPIC referral officers prefer to speak to the client directly which allows clients to express their own needs and experiences, and allows HPIC to gain the individual’s permission to disclose personal details in making a referral to other services.

Clients are also able to seek information anonymously from HPIC, but we may not be able to assist with a referral.

I find it's just easier to call them, as they have up to date details on services and availability.

Default Showers for Homeless People

Hello, I have just been made homeless a week ago. I was wondering if anyone knows where homeless people in sydney go for a free shower as I have very limited funds.

Default Information on homesless services in Sydney

If you are seeking information homeless services in Sydney, I would not use info exchange http://www.serviceseeker.com.au/ , as the information for New South Wales is limited and dated. The best source is LINCS http://www.datadiction.com.au/lincs/ as this is maintained by various councils through out Sydney Metro. There will limited information on services serving Women.
